So my lil sister told us she knew of a Dog and Cat a couple houses down that have apparently been abandon by there owners after they Moved and left the 2 behind.
Were not sure if its completely true or not. I guess one of the houses next to that house has taken the Cat but the Dog is just sitting there in a Dog Cage outside with no Food or Water ((I think he has a Dog House though)). My sister says its a really mean Rottweiler that Barks at her whenever it sees her.. which really doesnt say much cuz lots of Dogs bark at Strangers.
So im gonna walk over to the House tomorrow with a cup of Water and Dog Food and check out whats going on with the Dog and se if hes as mean as the Neighbors are saying.. dont worry im not gonna go into the Cage, if I have to ill give him the Food and Water through the Cage.
If he is Abandon but not mean we might adopt him and keep him in the Garage. Id just hate for the Neighbors to call Animal Control on a perfectly good Family Dog ((if the rumors are wrong)).
Ill also try to get pics of him and his Condition.
It sux how people can just leave Pets behind like that

EDIT:
Oh and I might add.. my Families really big Rott Lovers and about 7-8yrs ago my brother brought home a "Vicious" 12yr old Rott he was paid to dump off ((of course he didnt.. he brought him home instead)) and we ended up Keeping Hooch for like 4-5yrs before he died of old Age.

If these pets are abandoned you need to contact your local aspca they will investigate it and remove the animals. If the owner doesn't claim them you can adopt them if you would like. It's not fair for them to remain in the cage any longer than they have to.

Well if he can be a Pet Dog we want to avoid the SPCA cuz if they se one sign of "Aggression" they'll put him down especially since hes a Rott and very Big

Umm so we went to check him out today... we couldnt make it till 8pm to see him cuz we've been busy but when we did go se him:
We walked up to the Cage and he was Barking and Growling.. but I wouldnt leave till we gave him the food and water, as soon as he saw the Brown Bag (that had Purina Dog Chow in it) he quieted down and started Waggy his Stub/Butt

We were cautious at first but when my mom ((the daring one
)) fed him food through the Bars right out of her hand we were all able to calm down. He was jumpin all around Barking ((not Aggressively)) and fallowing my mom around the Cage while she inspected it. My mom has worked at several Dog Kennels/Shelters for yrs so she knows how to handle possible Aggressive dogs and what to look for... and he sure wasnt Food Aggressive cuz he'd eat the food while she was putting handfuls of it into the Bowl.
My mom wanted to go into the Cage to give him the Water cuz she couldnt find a Bowl except for the one with Green Water in it... but I wouldnt let her. So we gave him the food and went back to our House for more Dog Food and Water.. and a couple Hot Dogs

The Plan was that I feed him the Hot Dogs while my mom tried to get the only empty Bowl from the Center of the Cage without going into the Cage. He LOVED the Hot Dogs!! When we came back the second time he didnt growl or snarl at all! but I think he did get a lil mad when we had to leave cause he started Barking at us.
My moms gonna leave a note at the Dogs house tomorrow stating for the owners to please call us. We at lease want to talk to them about the Dog, its still not clear whether they actually left him behind or not ((the house looks deserted but at the same time like someone lives there.. if you know what I mean))... but then the neighbors did take the cat so idk.

Umm a creepy thing about the House with the Dog is.. theres a Rabbit Hutch on the side of the House with Food and Water in it.. but no Bunnies
... weird.

Oh and did you think I forgot the pics!! of course I didnt...

Hes a very Handsome Rott but we couldnt tell if he was underweight or not cuz he wouldnt stop moving...

Asking my mom for more food..

My mom had just poured a lil Water in his mostly empty food dish... does he look mean to you?

Following my mom while watching my sister...

If you ask me.. I dont think hes Aggressive I just think hes a normal guard Dog that Barks at Strangers. Oh and we nicknamed him Cujo

If you're going to name him after a vicious dog from a movie, why not call him Max?
After the genetically altered dog from Man's Best Friend.

Good luck. Don't get in over your head and if you can't take him try looking for a breed rescue - it shouldn't be too hard for find one for such a popular breed. ...also be careful not to get into trouble for trespassing.

Well were sorta Steven King Fans ((mostly the Books and a few Movies)) and we were about to rent Cujo from Blockbuster the other night so we thought that was a cool name!

Umm so were having doubts that "Cujo" is a Male.. hes wearing a Pink Collar and we cant find any Male Parts ((in the pics)). We didnt really look to se if it was a guy when we visited him/her, we just kinda assumed he was a Guy... we weren't really focusing on that so were gonna have to look tomorrow

Im looking into Rottwieler Rescues now encase we cant take him... im not gonna keep my hopes up about taking him but I am hoping either way that he/she doesnt go to the ASPCA... thats like a Death Wish waiting to happen.

I'm so glad you are trying to do something! He's a BIG boy/girl! Wow! I hope you can find an answer soon. If he stopped growling at you I would also doubt his aggressiveness, of course I wouldn't know for sure, but I think you have a point.

I've met a lot of really great family pets that were Rots, it would be a shame for him/her to be PTS without good reason.

Ok its a He for sure.. why he had a Pink Collar on I have no clue.

Well its been a LONG day with this Dog... So today around noon we went over to talk to Cujo's neighbors and they told us they took the Cat cuz it was declawed and left outside and they havnt been back to the house since Sat. and that the Rott owners other 2 Rotts tried to Maul her daughter and niece and there not taking care of there dogs and illegally breeding Rotts... my mom was MAD now.. so we took the huge Chain off the tree next to the dog cage, hooked Cujo to it, walked him to our house and tied him up to the inside of our Garage ((he also had outside access)).
Then we went down to the Feed Store, picked up a longer new dog chain, some dog treats then we made our way to the police station to try and get custody of Cujo ((although the police station was empty, but ill tell you about that later)). So we went down to the ASPCA to try and get help from them and they gave us some numbers to call then we went back to the house to pic my sister up so we could go get food. Well Cujo's owners were at the house!!! so my mom mediately walked up to them and asked if we could have there dog
wow.. they said no they are keeping him them my mom told her we had him at our house and the story there neighbor gave us... ALL LIES!!
1:there declawed indoor cat got loose while they were moving stuff so every time they went to the house they'd look for him.. the neighbors assumed he was left there and they took him and rehomed him!
2: they've been by everyday for the past week, now whether theyv been feeding/watering Cujo idk.. but still, they didnt abandon him, they just couldnt take him to the new house yet!
3: there dogs attacked 1 kid and that was cuz he was shooting one of the female Rotts with a BB Gun.
4: she legally breeds Rottweilers and because we cant have Cujo and hes so handsome were debating buying from them when they produce there next litter ((the Female being Bred would be Cujo's daughter)).
5: Cujo's neighbor starts trouble, they lie, the kids ((who are like 12 and under)) cus and they are just bad news.

Now my mom did try asking the lady if we could maybe buy Cujo off them but hes a family dog and not for sale.. d*mn.. hes awsome!!

So update for the past 10min... Cujo's owner called us asking if we'd talk to the cops about there cat.. lol wow.. this is weird. So yea our days been very long and Cujo is now back with his family... the lady actually thanked us for taking her dog and letting her know.

W/ the best cats
Glad everything worked out (except for the cat). Having lying neighbors like that, it is not surprising Oz's guardian moved out.

Exactly... Thats why the people are moving, because there neighbors gave them so much crap about there kids and dogs... so there trying to get away from it all. The sad part is the lying people have only lived in there house for about 6 months and Cujo's owner has lived in there house for yrs.. why they have to leave is BS
oh and a big plus encase those people try to mess with us ((i guess they like to mess with everyone)) is we have the same landlord as them.

Poor Cujo!!! Too bad you didn't come to get him.

I still don't think the family was that good to him. Why would they leave him without food or water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's too bad....

Yea, it is sad.. So I went to check on him and give him hot dogs today ((hes back in the cage
but now theres someone at the house)) and there were cable people at the house and Cujo was snarling, Growling and Jumping at them but when I walked up to Cujo he stopped and gave me kisses
when I walked away the Cable guys looked at me funny! oh and he had a full bowl of dog food today that wasnt from us ((it was soggy from the rain but it was there))

We told them if they ever needed a "Cujo Sitter" we'd doggy sit him anytime!!

I feel like ive known Cujo forever
im not afraid of him and I wasnt when I first met him... also when I woke up today and walked past the back door.. I looked for him out at the Garage

I don't think you can ILLEGALLY breed a dog, question is whether they are doing it ethically and for the right reasons...

He is a gorgeous dog but that doesn't mean they should be breeding him. Is he even old enough to have been fully health certified? I bet they aren't doing that.

All her dogs have papers ((including the puppies when you purchase one)). Hes to old to be bred.. his last litter was when he had his daughter and shes old enough to be bred now. The Mom Dog is also to old to be bred so both the mom dog and Cujo are retired breeders ((or at least thats what the owners told us)).

What i meant by illegally bred was the parents weren't vet checks, were mean and weren't healthy ((sorta like backyard breeding minus 200 dogs)).. but there the opposite of that.

There gonna breed Cujos daughter in a couple months and were gonna check out the litter to se the condition the puppies and dogs are in and maybe se if we really want to purchase a puppy.
For the record.. if we did buy a puppy from them it would be our second time buying a purebred dog in over 10yrs... the last purebred we ever bought was also a Rott back before my lil sister was born. We usually stick to rescuing but this may be a chance we cant pass up ((depending on the condition of the puppies)).

Just make sure they have OFA and CERF for hips/eyes/elbows and all that stuff. They should be doing those tests if they are good breeders. A vet check doesn't mean anything. You can't do any of these tests accurately until around 2 years old. That is all I am talking about. A lot of people think that a vet check is all you need.

Sound like BYBs to me - even if they seem nice. There's no way any ethical, registered breeder would keep a dog in conditions like that.
