We're just back now after having gone to the vets for her annual checkup.

It went really well. Putting her into the carrier wasn't a problem and the taxi trip to the vets went well.

Once there she charmed the receptionist with her insistent meows and beautiful eyes. Then while being examined she put up with it all, just hissing and growling a bit but not scratching anyone or attempting to get away. More just doing a sack of potatoes impression in a passive resistance sort of way.

She's really healthy, got full marks from the vet, he poked a lot at her belly to check out her internal organs and didn't find any lumps or anything and her heart beat was even steady and calm despite her being at the vet.

Her old overgrooming spot is looking really good and just yeah! full marks

She has lost a bit of weight and is a lean 11lbs now without being underweight though. I.e you can really feel her hip bones etc. but they're not sticking out in a visible way. If she goes below that though I'll start worrying.

..and here's hoping she wont have to visit for another year

She did really well.

It's actually a bit sad. The very first time she went to the vets she was really happy and just strolled around and charmed everyone.

Then she got spayed and even though she was only kept at the vets for a few hours and I got her home the same day, she imprinted really badly on the place and has gone ballistic when she's had to go to the vets after that.

Now that trauma seems to have lessened and while she was rather uncooperative she wasn't anything near to how she's sometimes been.

fantastic news that nikita is fit and well!
good to hear that she was calmer there too, maybe her memories are fading of that horrible spay day.

Joey was the same way, no problems till after he was fixed, now he breathes heavy and chokes me around the neck when we are at the vet

Glad Nikita's visit went well
