For those who don't know I love to bake. It's a great past time, and it teaches me a lot about myself.

In the past few months I've been searching for the best chocolate chip cookie recipe. With the full power of the Internet behind me I've been baking batch after batch. DH and friends haven't seemed to mind much. However, none have turned out the way I wanted.

This weekend I bought another box of baking soda, and noticed the recipe on the back. I threw caution to the wind and made them. They are SO good! Crunchy, chewy, soft and just perfect.

Who knew?

My favorite chocolate chip recipe is for the cookie bars on the back of the toll house semi-sweet chips.

One of our local bakeries sells a chocolate chip cookies called Hilary's cookies. I'm guessing the recipe is from Hilary Clinton?? They have sold these for years!! And they are very good.

Haven't googled a recipes by that name though....

A few years back, my mother brought home sugar cookies from work. They were the BEST s.cookies I ever tasted. My mom said it was an Amish recipe. I have searched the internet high and low and have yet to turn up a duplicate batch

One day... I'm going to have to start watching the baking soda too!

Oh bummer, just lost my post... here we go again.

This my cookie recipe that I love.

125g butter
1/2 cup caster (fine) sugar
1 3/4 cup self raising flour (or plain with baking powder and salt)
1 egg
vanilla
1/4 packet of chocolate chips and 1/4 packet of butterscotch chips (or whatever you like, but the butterscotch/chocolate mis is good!)

1. Beat butter and sugar to a cream
2. Add the egg and beat well. Add vanilla.
3. Gradually add sifted flour
4. Mix into a stiff paste
5. Take small pieces of mixture and roll into balls
6. Place on trays lined with parchment/baking paper, press out lightly with a floured fork
7. Bake in a moderate oven until golden brown - about 12 minutes.

Yum yum!

Description
A chocolate and nut combination that everyone will really love.

Ingredients \t

Nutritional Information
2 1/4 cups unsifted flour
1 teaspoon ARM & HAMMERÂ[emoji]174[/emoji] Baking Soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup softened margarine or butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (peanuts, walnuts or pecans)
Directions
Sift together flour, Baking Soda, and salt in small bowl. Combine margarine or butter, sugars and vanilla in large bowl. Using electric mixer, beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add sifted dry ingredients. Mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in 375 degree oven 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes about 8 dozen 2-inch cookies.

Now, this says 8 dozen, but I have no idea how that happens. I've been able to squeeze about four dozen out of it.

Also, one can omit the nuts. I didn't have any on hand so I left the out.
