It's spelt OCicat

She looks like a Bengal to me. Perhaps a Bengal mix, her face isn't quite the 'right' shape.

She looks like a Bengal to me too! Bengals are wonderful cats. She plays fetch just like my Bengal does.

Maybe she's an Ocicat/Bengal mix? She looks quite a lot like a bengal but like missymotus mentioned.

Her eyes look a little bit too slanted or slightly too small and her muzzle rather too pointy. Bengals usually have big puffy whisker pads (which really get puffed out and round when they're in hunting mode) and a bit more blunt muzzle.

This could be either because she's not a 100% bengal or because she's been bred from Bengals that didn't quite fit the standard, i.e pet quality cats, and there the difference would be magnified up in the kittens.

She has good contrast though and the undertone in her coat is very much the warm brown bengal colour I'm used to seeing.

To help explain what I mean about the muzzle here's a photo of my bengal:

You can see how her whisker pads are quite filled out and prominent.

So yeah, my hunch is that your kitty might be a bengal/ocicat mix. Her coat is too good really to be a mix from a bengal to a non spotted cat, but she still doesn't look quite right for a bengal (to me anyway), especially in the face.

So it may be. It is very common pedigree-alike moggies are upgraded into pedigree when presented at cat-homes or petfinder or such.

This is well known and no harm done as long as they dont charge more than for a moggie.
Thus taking one example, I, myself proud owner of two russian blue pedigree breeding studs = our own home family cats, I dont mind at all if grey moggies are thus helped in this way to get homes.

Although I would rage if somebody tried to sell grey moggies as a pedigree RBs taking the full payment. My wrath would be severe!

All the ways are good, save the bad ways.

Your cat is a bengal.

She has arrowhead rosettes, typical bengal tail, whited expression to her underside and the well known trait of playing fetch.

She does have some issues with conformity to breed standard with her head, eyes and ears, which could be due to either sire or dam, or both not being a show/breed quality cats.

So, you have, in my opinion, what is considered a "pet quality" bengal cat. Without proper registration papers as proof, there will always be some question about parentage, but I do believe you have a bengal and not a moggie.

Kai Bengals knows his stuff, and looking at her myself, I do see a pet-quality bengal, as someone else said, most likely bred from parents that were of pet quality themselves. The way she is built and the way she moves when she runs to fetch shows bengal, for sure.

Without being registered, you do have to call her a spotted tabby or DSH, but I'm of the opinion that you need to start doing research on the bengal breed to ensure that she gets everything she needs from you to stay happy.

It looks like you've got a very sweet little girl there, congratulations!

By the way - what did her fortune say?

Technically, without any registration papers with TICA (I don't think CFA recognizes the Bengal breed yet right?), her breed is Domestic Short Hair. Unless a cat has a known pedigree, it isn't technically part of that breed.

That being said, she looks like a Bengal. More and more Bengals are popping up in shelters because of backyard Bengal breeders. If Kai Bengals thinks she's a Bengal, I would say it's pretty safe to say that she is

She is beautiful! Thank you for adopting and saving a life! Petfinder is a great way to find pets.

What a little darling.
She is so cute.
Bengals are fantastic. There was one in my old neighborhood who used to roll on his back to be petted. He was too friendly and I feared for his safety. But I found out he belonged to the assisted living center residents and was spoiled beyond belief. So he had around 40 people cuddling him and loving him. He liked to sneak out for mini adventures but they found his escape hatch and fixed it.

As a Bengal mom I say Bengal with out a doubt. She doesn't look like most Ocicats I have seen and although I am not an expert on either breed...her coat color and texture doesn't look ocicat to me. She has rosette's which is not usually seen in the ocicat breed(they have small spots usually that don't resemble the spotting of most Bengals)...and she as more contrast to her coat then most ocicats. She looks like a pet quality bengal to me.

What state did you adopt her in? In some states bengal cats are considered hybrid cats - and therefore wild cats (even if they are generations removed from ALC's) and the ownership of them is illegal. She may very well be a bengal...and the shelter may have been hiding her true breed to protect her from euthanasia.

Beautiful cat. I will go with the majority and say bengal. Interesting trait mine had and curious to know if yours does the same, mine used her toes to hold onto things. Only cat I ever had that used her individual toes to hang onto window sills (loved to hang, don't know why) and would grab things using only one or two toes and seemed to be able to stretch single toes and keep the rest curled up. I loved mine and she ruled the roost until she died.
