I won't know when I work in June probably close to when June rolls around. I'll let you know as soon as I find out.

We got the storms around 3 in the morning. It woke me up and Lexi was playing with my blinds to try and see through so she could see the lightning. She was also bad last night and slipped through the hole in my screen while I was on the phone. I did catch her.

We had a roof blown off of a flea market in the area and a tree that fell on someone's house.

Yeah a pretty bad storm blew through here around 3 a.m. I thought our alarm was going to get set off just like yours but it didn't. We live in an area that is up on a hill and no "protection" from wind. It sounded as if the house was going to get blown right off the hill.

That is amazing because it was down here for six hours and I believe you live less than a mile from me, although I have Green Mountain energy.

There will be such an abundance of food that this is of no consequence although the following recipe is probably the most known in this country:

I guess it is time for me to stop calling her DW. Her true name is Sharifeh but her friends and co-workers call her Sheri. She has prepared complete meals for 40 in this household and she says that in our new house, which has gas, she will be able to double that. I gained 40 pounds in our first year of marriage.

i'm fine. there was a tornado that apparently touched down somewhere in Sanger, but me & mine weren't touched.
i wasn't even home at the time... i was at the theatre in Denton. my AD came up & asked if i still lived in Sanger. i said, yes, & he told me about the tornado warning. i said, 'i hope the cats are ok.' then he asked if i wanted to go home! i said, 'you want me to drive to the tornado?'
but he thought my parents lived up here, too. i told him no, they live in Argyle. if i had gotten home tonight to no house, i'd've been going there to sleep! but it was just fine, as were the cats. there was a rather large log in the road, but no damage that i've found as yet.

Make sure you all take plenty pictures mind!
How fantastic... I wish I were closer so I could come too!

I do have one suggestion though from my own experience with other (much smaller) meet ups... plan for MORE time! Since Lee and his lovely wife have offered their home it won't be an issues but I can tell you that a group of a dozen or so cat lovers will want... no need... more than 4 hours to socialize.
Have tons of fun!

Yes, you are very close by, just a few blocks to the southeast of us -- but we are on TXU, so that may be the difference. Our next-door neighbor is on Reliant Energy, and has just about convinced us to switch, too... I'll ask if he had any trouble.

Yes ma'am, I've been slowly realizing that myself -- thank goodness Lee and Sheri are making it possible for us to be more flexible than if we had to rent a meeting space! That will really help those who have long drives, too... the broader the window of opportunity, the easier for them to arrive and leave when they need to.

Later today, I'll put together the list and the calendar as they stand right now, so we can all see how things are shaping up...

I should be working the first weekend in May so I can't make it on the 10th. I'm going to a Fest on the 17th of May with some friends so I won't be able to make it then either. Sorry! I'll try to figure out when I might work in June.

Kinds of Restaurants You Just Can't Stand (Thai, Sushi, McDonald's, etc.): Noisy ones

Okay, at this point, we still have several weekends to choose from! So far, we can all make it on:

May 24-25

May 31-June 1

June 21-22

July 26-27

So as your summer schedules fill up, please try to keep those dates open. As soon as we feel sure everyone on TCS who might want to come has noticed this thread and had a chance to sign up, we can settle on a date to get together!

Late breaking mews:
I am available all of those dates but Sheri (DW) has to go to New York May 24-25.
Also, she has to teach until 10:30 at night on June 20 and when she prepares a Persian feast, shes spends the whole day before preparing it. That is the Persian way.
We really would like to host this and would provide a much better time for all on the May 31 weekend if that is satisfactory to others.

That will probably be the best for us, b/c I talked to my son yesterday and he's planning on coming to visit the end of June or the beginning of July. And I really don't want to miss this!
