Well today started out with a root Canal on one of my front bottom teeth which meant compleet freezing on both sides because the dentist wasn't sure which nerve controled that tooth. Over $400 later I had a compleeted root canal.

While I was in the dentist's office it started snowing which lasted the rest of the day.

When I got to work my Boss took me into his office to talk to me about my productivity and the mistakes I have been making. A little back story.... I don't exactly love my job, I don't hate it either it dosn't pay well and has zero benefits. The only plus is that it is local and convenient.

The mistakes I have been making are things I should be catching but with the work load they are putting on me I am missing things that if I had time to concentrate I would definately catch. The thing is that they said that if things don't drastically improve I will have to be replaced.......

The thing is I don't care at this point. I have so many more inportant things in my life at the moment. My grandparents and parents health, my friend Laura is not doing very well since her last brain surgery and I havn't been unconditionally happy in a very long time.

I know if I lost my job I would be anoyed and financially I couldn't afford it but When it's somthing your not passionate about, what's the point. I am starting to look for another job but I have to ask......

Is there such thing as being happy at work? Because I havn't found it yet.

& for a better tomorrow.

I understand your feelings, if you are not happy at your job, it affects everything, your health, your relationships, etc. But you can find happiness in a job.
Can you start looking now, while you still have a job? What skills do you have? What are you good in?, what do you love to do? If you could have a dream job what would it be?

These are some things to think about to help you explore the right path for you.

and feel better.. a root canal is not fun.

I'm sorry that you're not happy in your job. That's where you spend the majority of your time - it's terrible when it's no fun, I know that for sure. and
for a better week next wee.

up until this year, i was as happy as i've ever been at a workplace...
this year has sucked, tho - got a PITA for a new principal.
they announced the new principal today for the new campus, & i'd love to work for her... they haven't given me that choice, tho. i did speak to her, but i'm still looking for a new place.

Wow, it sounds like you've got a lot on your plate right now. I wish I could give you a big hug and make it all better! If you aren't happy in your job, you should discreetly start looking elsewhere...even just looking can help make things seem better. I know for a fact that you can be happy in your job. I absolutely love what I do for a living. There are days when I get upset by administration or some dumb thing that happens, which I can't control. I honestly couldn't imagine doing anything else. You need to find your passion, and try to figure out how to incorporate that into what you do for a living. That is the way to guarantee that you will be happy in your work. Good luck!

Rhonda...I'm so sorry you are so unhappy. I think that if you are that unhappy with your job then maybe it is time to find a new one. I think with jobs there is always a good side and a bad side, but when it is more bad than good, it's time to go.

I can relate to parents not being in good health. I am so afraid that something will happen to my dad and that I will have no one else left. Just an empty house to come home to.

If you need someone to talk to, please PM me or call me. Or I'll call you this weekend! I am meeting with two of my mom's friends. We are going to do some things together. They are really great, wonderful people, but they are also not her and I know they are trying very hard.

I would try to find a job ASAP. Can your brother help you with your parents? I know he isn't home that often.

I hope your friend gets better soon. Were her parents able to get to her? I feel so bad for her.
You are a good friend to stay with her.

P.S. I can relate to root canals! I've had three!

I said this in another thread, but I'll reiterate it here: If you don't like your job, start looking for a new one but keep on working at the old one. It's MUCH easier to find a job while you're employed than when you're unemployed.
