I don't think my brain woke up with me this morning. I stopped by Blockbusters at 8 am to drop off a DVD. I pulled up out front, left my car running and LOCKED my keys in the car.
Luckily, some people were at the Boston Market next door. I knocked on the window, gesturing that I needed a phone. The manager came out and I told him I needed to call the police because I had locked my keys in the car. He looked, laughed and said "Yeah, and it's still running!" (Thanks Sherlock Holmes, I didn't know it was still running ). He called the police from his cell phone (you can't call out from their phones) and they came about 10 minutes later.
The officer was really nice (and was the same guy who had given me a speeding ticket last summer). He got the car open, then asked for my license. I thought that on top of it all, he was going to give me a ticket for stopping in a fire lane. Luckily, he just needed it to fill out the paperwork. I'm glad this happened on Friday, and not Monday-if it happened on Monday, I wouldn't have gotten out of bed for the rest of the week. Now, the rest of the day just HAS to get better.
