Hi.. I have a cat whos very pregnant, and i also have another female cat, for most of the pregnancy they have avoided each other, but today, all day today, the female who isn't pregnant goes around the pregnant one constantly, sniffing her and licking her and lays near her meowing constantly, its so strange! is this normal behavior, is the pregnant cat releasing some sort of hormone thats affecting the other, or maybe is she about to go into labor.. Anyone know??? Thanks!!

It's not unusual for cats to sense anothers emotions. She is probably getting close, and is not feeing herself. The other is trying to comfort her.
If she is not part of a breeding program, make sure after she has the kittens, she stays indoors until she can be spayed.

Thank you!! I'm calling the vet the day she gives birth to make an appointment to have her spayed, after she finishes nursing! It seems like thats what she is doing, almost like shes playing mama to her, comforting her in a way.. its really rather cute, i was just stumped by it LOL she is the older cat! thanks again!
