It's interesting how the chicks are gray (like young swans) and turn white when mature (also like swans), but are only pink from the tiny creatures in the water they eat that dye their feathers.

Like if you give a yellow canary red food dye in its food, it turns orange. Remove the dye from its diet, and its new feathers are yellow.

Imagine a pink swan, wow!
