I need April Fool's jokes for the workplace!! Or just share some of your pranks...

Anyone have ideas? I work in a kitchen/dining room/retirement center. One of our chefs is really OCD about his spices--he has them lined up and numbered, which correspond to the list of spices on the wall. I turned them all backwards and upside down and wrote on them with a sharpie: "What the H*** is goin' on? April Fool's Day". And I took his hat, soaked it in water and put it in the freezer.
I also printed a picture of two donkeys mating and replaced the picture of my boss's dog with it on his desk (he probably won't notice for a while).
I hid fake snakes in various places for the morning shift to find.
But, I need some more ideas for the others throughout the day.
Any ideas??

It might not be useful in your situation, but one that was a lot of fun (not actually my prank, but I did aid and abet ) was when I arranged for some students to have supervised access to the Dean of Students' office for long enough to fill it top to bottom, wall-to-wall with balloons. The Dean was a good sport and knew who the instigator was, as she pulled some prank every year. There was a lot of laughter that day, and he didn't get much work done before noon.

Gag stores have a lot of office supplies that shock you! We got my aunt a whole set for Christmas. They have a stapler, a pen, a calculator, and a few other things! It's so funny to watch someone try to use it!

i can only remember one. when i was a travel agent, we often got call back messages from clients when we were working with someone else. someone would write the name/number/etc on a pad & give it to us... anyway, one girl got a message to call Myra Mains, w/a number... the number was for a local funeral home. she didn't even realize the joke until the person on the other end gently said, 'i think someone's playing an april fool's joke on you, dear'.

A couple of fun times from the past. I worked in a very high level executive banking environment. And when any of the managers had to go to the 'executive' floor, they had to put on their jacket.

So a co-worker and I enlisted the help of the senior manager's secretary, who summoned our manager to the executive floor to meet the boss.

We had stapled the lining of his jacket together, and watching him try - in a panic to get to the boss - to get his arms in his sleeves was hysterical.

He was also a guy who kept his phone on the credenza behind him, and simply reached back to grab the receiver and answer. Another year we replaced the receiver with a banana and he answered the phone (into the banana) saying, "Research Department, Tom Smith speaking."

you're pranks make my ideas seem teeny.

We done things like taking out the mouse ball... or taping the button down on the phone so when they pick it up it keeps ringing... or turning the video on their computer sideways or upside down (hit ctrl+alt+arrow key).

Hmmm... my daughter once took some oreos, scraped out the filling, then replaced it with toothpaste.

Good luck and dont forget to share your stories after tomorrow!

I know it seems like fun, but please don't do this to people -- it can actually be dangerous. I knew a very young, seemingly healthy woman who just instantly dropped to the floor unconscious from one of those "joke shock" items -- that's how she found out she had a heart problem. If her heart hadn't started back up on its own... my gosh, the person who played that stupid trick on her would have had to live with it the rest of his life!

You never know who might have a condition that could be triggered by a shock like that. And anyway... there are plenty of ways to have fun without pain.

I tried the video thing and the shortcut doesn't seem to work... But toothpaste filled Oreo's... That's great!

too bad I don't work today. my mom pulled one on me after I got all dressed up to go with her to lunch and shopping that I had a slit on the back off my pants and I freaked out and she says April Fools. also, my brother is a jokester and cut out part of my brother's girlfriends shampoo bottle and it wouldn't come out. he also put flour in her blow dryer so she slapped him when he was sleeping.

I work with kids and we are just drawing a blank as to what to do to them. Can't pretend they are in trouble because they always are and it would be no surprise to them.

i heard our music teacher do one on her kids today - she said [right at the end of class] "ok, for the rest of class you get to run around the room!" after the cheering stopped, she said "april fools!"

I thought about getting the metals lab to all send in emails to our boss saying we were putting in our notice He ended up getting us all by saying our data validator was pregnant with twins.
