Been cleaning out our attic and found the boat log from Alaska. Inside was this picture of the first halibut I ever caught off our boat. Care to guess how much it weighed?

It filled our freezer for over a year and it was good eatin. Smudge our boat cat wouldn't go near it after it was landed. So much for cats loving fish! LOL

Well it's no wonder your cat wouldn't go near it - it looks as if it could swallow a cat whole!

Hmm how big was it...I am going to guess 60 pounds? *l* Like horses, I know nothing of fishing either
. I know I just like to eat fish, if it's a whitefish!

Was fishing in 300 feet. The total weight was 169 pounds! I was drenched when it finally got on board and I told Mike, "OK, that's it, I am done fishing for life!" LOL

what an amazing experience! I'm not a fisherman (or woman) but I would love to try that at least once. Like you that would probably hold me for the rest of my life. what a neat thing to check off on your list of life experiences.

I don't even know how you could reel that thing in! I would have fallen over the boat edge for sure

Well you can tell I don't know a lot about fishing. The first thing that came to my mind was "who killed that poor shark?"
