I am new here. I found the website last night because one of the kittens was not doing well and she died this morning before I could start feeding her. Anyhow this is how it all started.
We found this cat and put out ads all over and I called this no kill adoption place to have her placed. Well it took a while and I ended up liking the cat so I kept her. ( its hard not to get attached) well she was pregnant .
Uh oh right LOL. Well Saturday night I was at work and my kids kept calling me telling me that the cats private area was all wet and she was doing weird things. Apparently she attacked the dog that she normally gets along with and couldnt stop attacking the dog. So I came home from work and started petting Snickers. It seemed like her water broke and she was ready to have them right there on my bed. I gently picked her up and put her in a basket next to my bed. Within 10 minutes the first baby was out. It took her well over an hour to clean her and then the second started to come out. This one was the one that died. It was a small little runt with hardly any hair. The third one came out 2 hours later and with the umbilical cord still attached she tried to take off with the runt kitten to hide it. I closed my bedroom door so she couldnt get far. But the baby unattached from her and she hid the runt. Eventually she went and got it and we thought there were only 3. Byt the time I was leaving for work the next day there was a 4th. We thought it ended at that. 24 hours after the birth of the first one she had her fifth. 4 are doing really well and the little runt since had passed. They seem very cute and I have them all together. this morning I let the mother take a stroll through the house. I had them in a room with closed door. Only because we have another cat that I worry about bothering the litter. So anyway she walked around and now she is back up there and they seem well.
