How do you read the posts?

I used to go into the cat forums, then choose each individual forum separately, usually spending the most time in the "Pregnant Cats and Kitten Care" forum and visiting the "Cat Lounge" as I found time. But I always wondered how others kept up with the messages from all the different forums.

Then I see a spot on the front page where the most recent messages were posted and I started hanging out there to see what was coming in. What a PITA that was - LOL

NOW - took me long enough - but I noticed the "New Posts" link toward the top of the page and I check there first.

I tried subscribing to threads but found myself with too many to manage.

Also occasionally I will go to my profile, click on the posts I've made and read the threads from where I've last left off....

How do you guys do it??? Is there an easier way?

I'm new here and find it very hard to keep up with such a fast paced forum. Others that i'm a member of are much slower and easier to keep up with. I would like to hear what others say.

I go through the forums like this, I go to whichever one catches my eye first, then move along through the threads in that one, then at the bottom of the page I click on that thingy and switch to a different forum and so on and so fourth, but I dont post on every single thread, or read every single thread except usually in the Crossing the Bridge forum!

Top to bottom with the sections I'm usually active in. If bored or I see an odd titled thread I'll go into the what's new section or fur pictures.

I start at this link for the forums.

The first one I click is "What's New Pussycat?"

The second one I click is "IMO"

If I see a last commented on thread in "Behaviour" or "Health and Nutrition" that catches my eye, I will look in that forum, otherwise I don't usually read those.

The third one I click is "Cat Lounge" but I don't read the lounge first.

Once in the Lounge I click "Fur Pictures"

After I have looked at "Fur Pictures", I will read the "Lounge"

Sometimes I will look through the "Other Animals" forum, but not often, and many forums here I don't even bother to click on at all.

I go into each forum that interest me, I use Firefox and open the threads I want to read in a new tabs.

Mark posts as read when I'm all done, then if I come back again the same day I just hit new pots.

Ah ha!!! Near the top, where the bar is that contains the links for the "Arcade" "Search" "User CP" etc is a "Quick Links" drop down menu... in that menu is a place to click for all the posts made in that day.

That's convenient!!!

I'm usually only ever here in the Cat Lounge - though I have been known to sneak over to IMO when I'm in a particularly contrary mood. Mostly I just browse through the forum and see which title on a new thread grabs my attention.

As a mod, I usually go to the forums I'm responsible for first then if I have time I can read some posts I'm interested in.

I usually click on New Posts, and go through those, then head to The Cat Lounge & then Fur Pictures

I read REALLY fast so I just click on New Posts and scroll through as I scan threads to see what I want to read.

I'm part of the "New Posts" bunch. But, yes....this board is so active that, if I don't log on for a few hours, or a day, there are so many New Posts pages it takes forever to go through them! But, that's allright. Sometimes I have alot of time on my hands.

I go to, the cat lounge, cats and other animals, pet pics, and then new posts Oh and I check the new member forum!

I check out the lounge first, then New Cats, then fur pics and crossing the bridge..then I move up from IMO to Whats new pussycat if I have time. Don't much go into the expert/breeders forums though.

I just go into whatever threads look interesting.

I don't have a specific way I look at threads. I just click around different places 'til I see one I wanna read. I usually do go to the Lounge first though and see how everyone is doing then go from there.

I just always click on new posts.

That sequence works quite well, actually.

I go to new posts and read from there.
