Last night Jade moved her babies under my bed. She took them out of the carrier we had them in and put them way back under my bed. My mom says its because its gonna storm and she knows it will be safer, mom's meezer moved her babies last night as well. Should i leave them there or try to dig em out and put them back where they were to begin with?

next question, the white boy kitten now has grey ears, grey tail and is starting to get a little grey on his lower arms and legs, does this mean there might have been a meezer in the mix?

also when i first rescued Callie i read online somewhere (wish i could find that link again) that callico cats are ALWAYS the result of a black female and a orange male cat, however it seams that Jade has a callico kitten, so that throws that theory out the window right?

Your "white" kitten sounds like its a pointed one (blue point) so yes one of the parents is either pointed siamese type or both parents are carrying the pointed gene recessivly

A black parent (mother or father) and a red parent (mother or father) can produce a TORTIE. A calico is a tortie with white too. In order to have 2 colors (black and red) you have to have one of those from each parent.

In order to get a tortie/calico kitten, you have to have one black parent and one red parent. It doesnt matter the sex of the color. OR it can result from a tortie mom and either black or red father. Because Jade is a red female, you can be sure the father was not red, else wise ALL the kittens would be red. The father carries the black gene and that is how you got your calico.

ALSO I would venture to guess that your blue pointed kitten is a female, not male, and will actually be a blue-cream-point (a dilute tortie-point)... A black male and red female will only produce red-pointed males (or diluted versions).

As for the kittens, I would not leave them under the bed. Personally when we have fosters, I take my bed off it's frame and let it sit directly on the floor so that the moms cant do this. I like to be able to monitor them, especially to make sure that all the kittens are in the same place and everyone is alright. Maybe you can find a way to block her access... although, I know from experience that is hard... they always seem to find an opening. Who knows, you might dig them out and she may leave them in the carrier. Your mom's theory makes since, but sometimes it's as easy as changing the bedding in the mom's carrier/box.

Good luck!
