As much as I love Jake, I watch him around my kids.
Deacon likes to rough house with Jake and once Jake growled a little and walked away.
He was saying "Hey, I'm done playing, leave me alone"
Luckily, the boys have been educated and walked away from him.
20 mins later, Jake came back to play.
I still would not allow children unsupervised with her-- actually part of the reason is BECAUSE she would allow those things. For me it's not only about protecting the child but protecting the dog from the child. Children can unintentionally hurt a dog, and many dogs may become aggressive or try to protect themselves if a child teases them or hurts them-- and some children will mistreat or tease a dog over time, which can ultimately result in a bite even with a usually good tempered dog when they have finally had enough.
