Ok...I tried typing it all again, and I lost it, so I scanned it. I hope you can read the new ingredients...

Thoughts on the new formula?

Can anyone make this bigger so it can be read?

I should add that I emailed and asked why they changed their formula I don't see cranberries anywhere among others. The name also changed from Tanzanian Chicken and herb to Chicken and Salmon meal . Here is the response I recieved:

Susan,

Thank you for the heads up on the Serengeti online listing. I'm having our website people correct it. The food is exactly the same as it was before. We updated the bags for the correct AAFCO definitions which resulted in some named changes and minor reshuffling of the ingredient list. If you have any other questions feel free to email or give us a call. Thank you for choosing Timberwolf Organics.

How far from the original are the new ingredients?

Thanks!

NEW
Ingredients: Chicken Meal, Chicken, Chicken Fat, Dried Potato Productsthis is a ??? ingrediant like what it truly is... ie only starch only protein, Salmon Meal, Natural Flavors this is a ???? able since the definition per AFFCO states it is a flavoring and one of my books states it can contain MSG normally I have no issues since it is found at the middle to bottom of ingrediants, Salmon Oil, Dried Egg Product contains quality egg but not likely the whole egg, Ground Cinnamon, Ground Fennel, Ground Rosemary, Ground Basil Herbs that may cause tummy issues in many, Dried Apricot, Dried Apple, Dried Kelp, Dehydrated Alfalfa Meal corrected I think but STILL a issue causer, Dried Carrot, Dried Celery, Dried Beets, Dried Parsley, Dried Lettuce, Dried Watercress, Dried Spinach, Dried Tomato Pomace, DL-methionine, Dried Whey Products, Caesin, Patassium Chloride, Salt, Lecithen, Taurine, Brewers Dried Yeast, Dried Saccharomyces, cerevisiae Fermentation Solubles, Dried Lactobacillus acidophilus Fermentation Product, Dried Bacillus subtillis Fermentation Products, Dried Bifidobacterium thermophilum Fermentation Products, Zinc Amino Acid Complex, Choline Chloride, Iron Amino Acid Complex, Vitamin E Supplement, Manganese Amino Acid Complex, Copper Amino Acid Complex, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Vitamin A Acetate, Niacin, Calcium Panthothenate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamin Hydrochloride, Biotin, Cobalt Proteinate, Potassium Iodide, Sodium Selenite, Mixed Tocopherols (a natural preservative), Citric Acid, Yucca schidigera Extract, Rosemary Extract.

OLD

Ingredients: Chicken Meal, Fresh Chicken, Chicken Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols), Low Ash Salmon Meal, Potatoes this is the whole potato starch and protein ,Tuna Oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols) Dried Eggs this appears to be whole dried eggs, Dried Chicken Liver, Dried Whole Milk, Dried Whey Extract, Kelp, Hydrated Alfalfa Leaf SORRY RED FLASHING light … why would they add water to this??? Plus it is KNOWN to be a tummy issue causer , Casein MILK derived protein, DL Methionine, Potassium Chloride, Lecithin, Taurine, Lysine, Carnitine, Choline Chloride, Creatine, Probiotics: (Lactobacillus Acidophilus Fermentation Product, Bifidobacterium Thermophilum Fermentation, Bifidobacterium Longum Fermentation Product, Enterbacter Faecium Fermentaion Product, Bacillus Subtillus Fermentation Product, Blueberries, Cranberries, Mixed Tocopherols (a source of vitamin E), Zinc Proteinate, Iron Proteinate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Thiamine, Niacin, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Iodine Proteinate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Biotin, Folic Acid, Pyridoxine (a source of vitamin B6), Cobalt Proteinate, Papain, Yucca Schidigera Extract.

WAY more herbs in the NEW … IMHO TOO many …

Would it be that big of a deal to switch to Orijen form this? It has more protein (it's 45%) than the Serengeti, which I was trying to avoid going to a super high protein since I do have an older kitty.

I can get whatever, as I am not opposed to having it shipped to me.

Doesn't Diamond make Taste of the Wild? That kind of scares me right there....

I didn't know about Merrick. Who makes it?

I have read somewhere that maker of Serengeti, Timberwolf is in process of being sold to IAMs.
Cannot for the life of me find where I read this, but figured I would pass the information along...

I'm interested in finding out as much about this as I can....please let me know if you find anything else out.

Why is it when you find something that works extremely well, they have to mess it up??

I cannot seem to find the original article. I would suggest calling the company and finding out more about what is happening with them and IAMs.

My reply when I emailed the company and asked about it:

Susan,

No, we haven't been, are going be, or an any way affiliated with IAMs. It is just an unfounded rumor. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for choosing Timberwolf Organics.

It seems that something may be going on, but noone wants to admit it.
