My one cat Mischief has been very clingy to me for the past month now and it's actually getting on my nerves. It is completely out of the ordinary for her.
Her usual attitude is "don't touch me unless I come to you to be touched" and even if she comes to you she ducks out of your reach. She hates to be held. She does not cuddle either. She sleeps with me every night though but always right up beside my pillows.

Lately she has been following me everywhere I go, like she is always at least a foot away from me at all times. She gets up on the couch with me and cuddles now and constantly wants my attention. So much that I can't do anything. I try to go on the computer and she sits in front of the screen and she nips at me and screams at me. While I am writing this she is bugging me. I can't go to the washroom without her running in before I close the door and begging for attention.
She now sleeps right up against me. Since I am not use to this I don't know how many times I have rolled over on her and have been woken up by her screaming at me. She does not want attention from anyone else in the house. She will once in a while go to my Grandmother for a quick pat and will race her up the stairs when she goes to bed. She ignores my mother completely. She pretty much is just clingy to me.

So my question is...since this has just started in the last month what could be causing this? What could be bringing this out in her? I know spring is coming but she was fixed as soon as she was able to be fixed. She has never acted like this any other spring...she is turning 3 in August so I can't really imagine she is missing her mother....

A lot of people would be very happy with this behavior. I have noticed that both of my cats will have periods of time when they act like this and then they go back to being "normal". Can you think of any dramatic changes in your living patterns at the start of this behavior? Think back to when it started. An example that I noticed is that when we sold a lot of household furniture. The absence of the furniture upset both of the cats and they were both more clinging for weeks after this occurred.

I love the fact she is more cuddly and friendly but she has gotten very clingy...I forgot to mention she always wakes me up throughout the night for attention. She walks across me or nudges me till I wake up and then wants to be petted and then lets me go back to sleep for another hour till she wakes me up again. I love giving my cats attention, I am not one who ignores them. She is just getting extreme.
Nothing really has changed...no furniture moved...we had a puppy but had to give him up for adoption when he started to attack Shadow because he wanted to be the Alpha in the house but that was back in Nov/Dec.
Shadow was at the vets last month for two days cause she had a blockage in her bowels and they had to put her in IV fluids and enemas. But she is at the vets alot cause of her Irritable Bowel.
I've been sick since Dec with something to do with my bladder...need to see a specialist end of this month about it...thats changed some of my habits a tad...

Those are the only changes I can think of

Hmmm...she's fixed. Indoors only?

I do wonder....has anything changed in the house recently? It may have been something very subtle, but that could upset her making her clingy.

It's also possible she has something physically wrong that you cannot tell.

She is indoor, we always keep our cats indoor and we fix them right away.

I seriously can't think of anything that has changed in the house...even small things. We haven't moved any furniture, bought anything new. We live a very quiet, boring life. Nothing ever changes.

She is a very very healthy cat. Only been sick once and that was with the cat version of Kennel cough because the puppy we had got it from a neighbors dog. She has been eating and drinking and pooping normally...I donno what would be wrong with her health wise

If you're using a different soap, shampoo, etc. that could do it, plus if you're taking any meds and she gets whiffs of them (which people don't) that could do it, and as others have said she may be aware that you have a physical problem and react to that.
