Ours is a long, but sweet story.
Kaity was an early Christmas gift for me when I was 6 years old. My parents asked me what I would name it if they got one. I remember being in the car saying, "I want to name her Katherine!" (after my best friend at the time) A few days after that, my parents picked me up from the babysitter's house. They didn't say a word, but as I climbed into the back seat I could see something small, curled up on the back of my dad's neck. I squeeled in excitement, but didn't want to wake her because she looked so sweet. My mom told me they didn't have any cats named Katherine, but this one was named Kaity. I couldn't be happier!
Kaity was abandoned as a kitten. The Humane Society found her in an alley all alone and picked her up. My parents saw her and adopted her. Through the years, Kaity has jumped between houses since my parents split up when I was 12. About 10 years ago, she finally came back from my mom's to live with me and my dad. I now live in an apartment with my fiance. He didn't like her too much at first (his allergies and the fact that she was pooping all over the place for a while), but now they are inseprable.
Kaity has never had any medical issues other than a slight allergy one year that caused her to lick some fur off her tummy, and once she got an ingrown toenail. In her old age she's become EXTREMELY allergic to milk. Before, I could give her a few licks and she'd be fine. Now, as soon as she gets one lick, she's throwing up all over the place. Since she can't have it at all, she gets a little crazy when I have a bowl of cereal. She hardly lets me eat it!!
This last weekend, I just turned 24. Kaity will be 18 in September and she is in perfect health!!
She is the light of my life and I can't ever imagine a life without her.
