Hi all,
It's been a while. I've taken in 3 feral rescues, all spade black females. They are all doing great, and 2 of the 3 are now super friendly. Back in August, I notice a black/brown tabby around the barn. She was scared to death of us. I would always talk to her and before too long she was willing to be petted. She had never shown any indication of being in heat. On New Years eve she was parting with the younger crowd, making a lot of noise. I was hoping that she was just fighting, but I knew that sound. So I figured, ok..kitten. Well, nothing, then on Feb 4th she was at it again. Now I think she is expecting again. She is getting a little pooch on both sides, and her nipple are pink and larger then I remember. I wasn't sure what I was looking at, so I got one of my other girls and checked her belly out. Her nipples were kinda white, so after compairing the two, i do think I'll have kitten before too long. I already have 3 families that that want one. My horse vet is one of them. I brought her in for the first time today, (I have 3 inside dogs), and put her in the crate and room she will stay in soon. I gave her some super good wet food to make her comfortable. She seems ok, walked around, etc, but went into the crate to eat. Then I put her out again. I'll bring her in again tomorrow, and this time keep her in the room/crate for about 1/2 hr. I'll do this for the next few days till she stays inside all the time. (for now). I'll keep her in till we wean the kittens, then she is going to the vet. I guess she is due about the beginning of April. Anything else I can do to help her adjust from being outside in the barn to being inside the house? She doesn't look to big yet, and, of course, no milk. anything else I should check for, or think about?
