I bought my first cat a litter maid litter box. I was so excited to have a cat that I got it about a month before we brought her home.

Flash forward 6 years we now have three cats. I know the rule is a box per cat plus 1. We have two the original Litter Maid and as we refer to it the manual. Well we are very good at keeping them clean however my husband noticed over the last few weeks they are not using the manual one.

We had a power outage a few years back and when the box was not perfectly clean the oldest cleaned it her self. What a mess!

I am going to have to get another litter maid but I have heard that the new ones got bad reviews. But they will burn up the motor in the old one otherwise.

Anyone have cats this particular and still use the litter box?

i have 4 littermaids... 1 basic, 2 elite & 1 mega. i like the basic the best, & the elites 2nd best. i really don't care much for the mega, but the price was right. my basic is the oldest one, still going strong!
i've heard really good things about the litter robot, & i may try one of those next time i need to replace a box.

The litter robot is pretty neat. Sabrina my middle kitty likes to watch the litter raking. She will high tail it back there as soon as she hears the cleaning cycle start. I wonder what she would make of the litte robot.
