When my cat is about to lay down on my bed or on any piece of cloth such as a towel,shirt, blanket, he like kneads the material for like 10 minutes with his front paws before he las on it. Why the heck does he do that? He doesnt do that when he lays on carpet

I know what you mean my two do the same thing, i'm guessing its some ting they get from when they are kittens
Our kitty Lazlo usually does this before he lies down up on the bed. It means he's happy and content. Cats knead on soft stuff, not firmer things, like the carpet.
