Mimosa has brain damage from anesthesia, since september she has slowly gotten better and better.
But in the past two days we have seen two major steps forward
For the first time she ASKED to play. She waved her front paws at me in that grabby motion. I nabbed the nearest toy (a stuffed animal) and gave it to her. She swatted & bit it fiercely. I took her hind leg and made the rabbit kick motion, she continued it on her own
She has played before, and every once in a rare while will get the kitten crazies and go zooming around. But this is the first time she asked me to play.
The second thing - she chirruped hello.
she often grumbles when she is annoyed or growls or hisses at another cat who is in her space. often she makes these odd pigeon noises, as she talks to herself.
But I heard a chirrup, and looked around. There she was looking right at me, and she chirruped again!
This is important because it is a different part of her brain than the motor co-ordination, so I know that she is recovering in many different areas now.
She is much more active in the past week than usual, too. Another good sign!
Her story is on my website, along with a timeline of her progress and some picts.
