This is one of the worst cases of abuse I have seen in a long time!!

I hope this woman is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I can't even image what would make someone do something like this. I wonder about the teenagers and what role they had in this- if mom forced it on them or if they were willing participants. It makes me think of that case in Indianapolis where an entire family systematically tortured and murdered a teenage girl in the 60's. http://www.crimelibrary.com/notoriou.../likens/1.html

Does anyone find the fact that the woman was 6 months pregnant and had been living in that house since last summer to be a bit odd? ...it makes one wonder.

I wondered about that myself. You can probably add "sexual abuse" to "physical and emotional abuse". That's a really horrific story - words fail me.

I know! How would she get pregnant??

That poor, poor woman I hope those people who did this to her get much more than a slap on the wrist Poor lady, i feel aweful for her- i hope she is at least able to rest in peace now How sad...

This is a bit off-topic, but I hate it when some theorists claim that Sylvia Likens was a masochist who enjoyed her torture. That's just ridiculous and sick.

My fiancee brought this to my attention the other night when he was browsing on the internet-I didn't really even read it all, just left the room & started to cry. Things like this make me ashamed to be a part of the human race, how could we be so monstrous? I will never be able to comprehend what dark part of the human mind would find enjoyment in the torture of another living thing.

That is just sickening. She could have raised her family if it wasn't for those murderers. The poor 1 year old... what will happen to him? Did he get abused as well?? I just can't imagine. Who knows what that poor girl could have done for the world if given the chance! I just wish someone would have done something to help her and her child/unborn child before she died. I hope they all get the death penalty. They're being charged with murder and intentional murder of an unborn baby, so maybe they will get whats coming to them!

This is awful on so many levels. The victims child... the murderous-mother's children... even though they were somewhat involved, how were they raised to be like this??? Did they even have a chance? Not to mention the unborn baby and how she became pregnant in the first place. Oh no no... I can not even fathom this monstrosity! All for a social security check? Just so sad.
