Has anyone ever used a neti pot? Any helpful use suggestions and benefits people have seen. My allergies were so bad yesterday that I got one just to try. I used it once, didn't see any results but it could have been because I was already so bad off.

I can't take antihistamines because I break out in little non-itchy hives. I HATE it because I am sure Claritin would work fine!!!

I use one twice a day every day. It works wonders for getting the icky stuff out of your sinuses. Keep using it and see if it works.

I use a baby bulb syringe (the two-part kind that comes apart for cleaning) to do a sinus rinse or sinus wash. It's more aggressive than a neti pot but works better and faster IMO.

I mix one cup warm water with 1/2 teaspoon sea salt and squirt the solution into the nostrils. It cleans out all the goo and many times has kept sinus infections from getting really bad. The bacteria in your nose can be spread to your ears and lungs causing ear infections and bronchitis or pneumonia. The sinus washes have been a lifesaver for me. I can't take over-the-counter meds at all.

I have one and use it when I was getting the sinus headaches. You need to use it at least a couple times/day. Right know my sinuses are feeling dry so I should use it!

which antihistamines have you tried? i ask, because loratadine [claritin], cetirizine [zyrtec], & diphenhydramine [benadryl] are all different drugs, so may affect you differently. i know benadryl makes me very drowsy, but claritin & zyrtec don't...
