At the shelter yesterday, I was answering phones, and we had a lady ring up.
She says "My dog get seizures from Advantage, and has fleas, so I sprayed him with hairspray."
Me: "Sorry, you did what??"
Her: "I sprayed him with hairspray, that way the fleas stick to the hairspray and they are easy to remove. I'm just wondering if the hairspray could be bad for him."
Me: "Well, I can't imagine it would be good for him, given that dogs lick themselves, and ingesting hairspray can't be good! Why don't you just try Frontline which has a different active ingredient to the Advantage. Dogs that don't tolerate Advantage often tolerate Frontline fine."
Her: "Oh, I never thought of that."
