How do you recognize an umbilical hernia? Max has got a little bitty bump under his cord.

I can't delete my previous post, but I can add to it. Does anyone know the maximum length of time the unbilical cord stays on?

I had one stay on for quite a bit longer than they are supposed to. It was the little runt. I just left it alone & it eventually dried up and fell off.

Thanks! I was just a little worried about infection the longer they stayed on and why they aren't healing fast enough. But I'll wait it out. I've had to start using a little eye ointment on Belle. Her eyes started to open and one looks a little infected already. It was crusted shut and I cleaned it with saline solution and treated it with eye ointment.
