When can we leave kitty & cat home alone?

Well, Sissy is still hissing & swatting at new kitty Squeak. It's been 3 weeks. Not to say they don't have their moments. The occasional butt sniff or close proximity to one another without altercations. But, we have also seen Sissy get poor little Squeak cornered and goes into a swatting frenzy. It doesn't seem like Squeak has ever been injured, no cuts, fur flying or crying even. But the confrontations sometimes look bad. We have them together only when we're home at this point, Squeak is in her room at night and while we are working. Is there a way to tell when they're ready to be alone in the house together?

In my experience I can leave the newcomers alone with the resident cats when there's no more howling/growling, spiked furs, ears laid back, baring teeth, and bad fights.
With me the hissing, swatting, rough play and occasional bullying are daily occurrences so I consider them normal cat interactions.
If you are uncomfortable though you may have to wait a bit more with Sissy and Squeak.

When the little one is close enough to the big one's size that she can hold her own to some extent in a fight, or when she won't be squashed outright by the older one, or when she can jump to safe places, etc. - usually 4-5 mos. or so - all depending on whether or not the relationship is neutral anyhow. If the big one is still belligerent, I wouldn't chance it.

As long as its not overnight and you are out of the house, its probably safe to leave together unsupervised for a few hours. Maybe start this weekend - leave them alone together if you go to the store. Then go from there.

this is kinda OT but chloe and patchy HATED each other when i 1st brought patchy home. they still dont get along actually, and its been 2+ yrs...
anyways, chloes toys all kept disappearing and i couldnt figure out where they were going. i had just moved when i got patch and had boxes of shoes in my living room. something came up and i had to move like 3 mos later. when i did, i discovered chloe had been hiding all her toys in my boxes of shoes so patch couldnt play with them

have you tried the vanilla butt trick? it didnt work for my kitties. i think they were just too alpha female for each other considering they are just now starting to sniff butts and it still ends up in swats. but it might help you. or feliway worked wonders for when i brought chloe home!
