I've been fighting a horrible craving tonight!

Usually at that "time of month", I get a really bad craving for chocolate. I had 5 cups of homemade cocoa made with skim milk and splenda, but that wasn't chocolatey enough to quench my craving. What I really want is a Crunchie chocolate bar or 10 or 12!

Plus I'm craving bacon! Yes! Bacon!

I think I'll pop some microwave popcorn and head to bed and read before I decide to thaw out a pound of bacon and cook it!

Ya know, for a guy, you're dead on... during PMS, we do usually (well, the majority of women at least) crave sweet and salty.

Hence my friend's creation of "B**th Mix"

She calls her husband and tells him to stop at the store on the way home... she needs the ingredients for her mix.

It's simple: plain M&M's and salty peanuts.

It's all about the sweet and salty...

A.

I keep salted nuts and seeds around for that; especially pecans and almonds, and sunflower and pumpkin seeds. At least if you eat a bunch, you can't feel too bad about it. They are high in nutrients, good fats, and calories, so they are not horrible things to splurge on. You already know this, don't you?

And I think you should eat bacon if you are craving it! But get the real kind, not the stuff with smoke flavour and additives; eat two pieces and freeze the rest. Mmm getting hungry...

That's weird because I was watching a show tonight in which someone was eating bacon. I thought to myself. Mmmm, bacon.
Now I'm craving it. Oh yeah, I had popcorn earlier too, and chocolate. We must be food twins today.

It could be the salt. I have been feeling rather nauseated today and usually when I have waves of nausea like I've been having today it's because I'm low on sodium. A bag of potato chips usually fixes that right up. Unfortunately I haven't been feeling well and can't get to the store and I don't have potato chips.

I've been drinking that instant beef and chicken broth because of my cold and it's something hot and different than coffee or tea. So that should have done it for the salt..

I may just cook up some bacon and have a toasted bacon and tomato sandwich! LOL

Well, I was a good girl and didn't cook any bacon. But I'm still craving it. I did get to the store today and bought myself 2 solid chocolate easter bunnies. I put them in the freezer for "desperate" times like last night!

For some reason, bacon and craving brought back memories of me being pregnant with Jenny. I didn't crave bacon. I was sick at the sight or smell of it. I couldn't stand the salad with bacon bits either. I made DH eat his salads out of my sight and smell.
I got over the morning, afternoon and evening sickness in just 5 short months.

I love bacon and salads now.
