Sammie's been with me about 14 months and I've only had to leave her overnight on three different occasions...most recently this weekend.

She is so sweet...does not want me out of her sight. If I am in another room, it is meow, meow, meow, meow!

Like, Mommy, where are you? I missed you and I need you.

Meanwhile, I spent the night with my BFF and I missed the sweet snuggly kitty behind my knees.

Glad to be home. She and I are are celebrating.

Ollie always gives me heck when I'm gone overnight lol... it happened more frequently when I was in college, but since I've graduated and am pretty much home at some point every night to sleep with him, he has a FIT when I do spend the night at a friend's or at my cousin's lol.... he becomes a monster when I'm gone and gets into all kinds of trouble (which leads to calls from the parents to tell me just how bad he's being lol) and then is ALLLLL over me when I come home... if I've been away for several days, I actually have to take up his kibble for awhile til he's used to me being home again - when I went to Florida for the orange bowl 2 years ago, I was gone for about a week - I came home and he was running around going crazy, ate a whole bunch of kibble, ran around again and promptly puked on his scratching post... crazy mama's boy!

Look at it this way - she has no way of knowing if you're ever coming back, or where her next meal is coming from, so of course she's going to go nuts when you do come back.

My cat is pretty much the same way. If I'm gone overnight for more than a couple of days, I usually come home to a pile of poo in the dining room. And no, it has nothing to do with her litter box. She's always poo'ed in the dining room when she gets mad about something. I don't know why it's always the dining room, but it doesn't matter where we have lived that's always where she chooses to show her unhappiness. I'm just glad it's only poo!

Rescue cat Usva was very nervous about me leaving when she first came to me. Once I was away for two days. She waited for me in front of the door most of the time and was completely constipated. 30 minutes after I go home, her relief was all over the floor.
