I got sent a sample pack of the dry adult food, the ocean fish and rice one which Smudge really liked. We switch from Royal Canin to Whiskas dry food, and she wont touch Whiskas. So we have now decided to leave her on the James Wellbeloved dry stuff. Just wondered what your opinions of it are? xx

It's a great dryfood for allergic cats. It's very "clean" and the sources of protein are somewhat different than from regular foods. Otherwise it's a bit to low in protein and fat for my taste.

My personal opinion is that JW should be fed to allergic cats only, because it's so effective on them. The more cats that eat the food, the more likely cats will start to develop allergies towards it and that would be sad.

It's a pretty good food, imo. Not the best, but most of the high end dry foods available in the US arent' available in the UK. It's on about a par with Royal Canin, Hills etc but I prefer it to those 2 as it's hypoallergenic and the only grain is corn. It has as good a meat content as any of the others of that type (if not more). If was my dry food of choice before I discovered Orijen. I originally started feeding it several years ago (in the days when I thought dry food was good for cats) because one of my cats developed a skin condition that may have been food related (he had some tests at the vets but we never really worked out what was causing it) and he and Jaffa both did well on it. Now that you can get Orijen over here (available from zooplus) I prefer that. Zooplus have also started selling Timberwolf serengeti recently which is also grain free, I think?
