I adopted a stray kitten in November. He is a red tabby--medium hair. The friend who found him did not find any other kittens at that time. She doesn't know who the mother or father is. There are about 7 stray adults that she feeds but isn't sure if its any of them or not.

This past week she had another stray kitten wander into the yard, she saw he had a runny nose and she took him to the vet. The vet believes that this kitten is the same age as my kitten. This kitten is dark brown, almost black short to medium hair.

Is it possible they are littermates/siblings?

**Sidenote** We are going to meet him tomorrow and in an ideal world would adopt him as well. However we are in the process of moving this week and it would be really hard to add him into the mix. The friend who has him really can't keep him much longer as her three present cats are not pleased about his presence and he is taking up there bathroom. If its possible she can keep him another 2 weeks we might take him--if we like him and he suits us and our current kitten.

Thanks Leslie

I don't know weather or not it is possible based on genetics (although kittens in the same litter can have different fathers) .. it's probably a long shot.. but I guess that it could be possible since they both showed up at the same place

Yes, it's possible. A variety of colours and hair lengths are often seen, and as said above there can be more than one father involved.

Its possible but probably not. If there is a mix of males and females in the group it would be a slim chance its from the same two parents.
