So the majority of February went by and I never received my W2 from my former employer in Michigan.

I contacted them. Despite having sent my new address to the accounting manager, the controller was never notified of my new address. So my W2 was sent to my old address.

USPS never forward the statement...yet I got my other W2 from the community college I taught at.

Now I get the fun process of going through the reports of filing a possible fraud alert under my SSN.

I did happen to check my credit report at the end of Jan and no accounts had been opened...but I'd rather not take the chance.

I'm hoping that the statement was just "lost"...and that nothing has happened between the time of my credit report and now.

OK thanks for letting me vent. I swear...it's just something every month since we left Michigan....

So far so good...one of the credit sites gave me an additional free copy of my credit report and nothing else has been opened in my name

still...having the 90 day alert makes me feel better....ID Theft is the LAST thing I need right now/ever!

The post office closed our PO box in error back in December. It took us almost 6 weeks to get it back open and stop the forwarding. Fortunately, my wife keeps an eye out for bills when they're due, but we had a few that got missed. What a mess.

One of the things that got sent back was her W2.
