My foster cat came to me because he had a UTI and URI. After the meds were done and the URI was gone, he never quite got his appetite back. The shelter recently diagnosed him with Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease. I can't seem to find a whole lot of info on the web about FLUTD. From what I've read, he doesn't have a lot of the symptoms. He is 6 years old, neutered, was 20 lbs, now about 17 lbs. He did have the UTI symptoms, but now doesn't have those symptoms. I've been trying to get a urine sample, but he will not go in the box with the lab litter. Because he NEEDS to pee, I put the regular litterbox back down for him. His preious urine test had too much blood in it, so a lot of factors were unreadable. So I do not know if he has crystals yet.
I also bought him a Petmate Water Fountain yesterday to promote drinking more and it really seems to be helping.
