People are lining up, to adopt these dogs - there are record crowds at the Humane Society. Almost half of these dogs have already been adopted.

That's good news. Hope all the dogs find homes.

One of the local TV stations ran a telethon, to help with the expenses. The HS estimates it is going to cost about $400,000 to deal with this situation. They had to call out the Sheriff's Dept., for crowd control. Several of the dogs gave birth, en route to the shelter so, there will be plenty of puppies for adoption, in a few weeks. A shelter in Northern California is taking 150 of them.

The newspapers keep concentrating on hoarding - these people are not HOARDERS, they were running a PUPPY MILL. If my lease would allow it, I'd probably brave the crowds - those little buggers are SO cute. My dogs would be OK, with me adding another dog but, I'm not sure how Rowdy would deal with a dog, who is SMALLER than her (she really loves my two big dogs).

UPDATE: All of the dogs have been adopted, except for the new puppies and their moms.

That's good news, especially as I imagine the new owners are going to be paying a lot of vets' bills, and that probably deterred a lot of potential adopters.
