This is an argument about reversing the discriminatory practices that have been happening for years. It was OK to pass over a qualified diversity candidate up until now. Now when anyone suggests to turn the tides on these practices, those that have been in control can't take it.
I'd be mad if I was a white male and was passed over for a job. But as a woman, I've had to live with that reality my entire career. Do I have a right to be mad at the culture in America that allows this? You bet I do. Do any groups that have been equally discriminated against have the right to be angry? You bet they do.
Pointing out the diversity will only increase the tension until opportunities are equalized. Once that happens, we can all focus on what we all really need help in: unity.
You dont move one group ahead , buy screwing over another group. That makes You and others who have admitted to this, just as guility as any other racist or sexist person or group.
You take the best person for a job. End of story.
