Randolph IA Cat Bounty

I don't know if you all have read heard this, but it really makes me sick. The small town of Randolf IA has experienced a feral cat population boom. As a result the mayor is offering $5 for each cat that is caught and turned in to him. Once turned in, the cats will be taken to a local vet and killed if not claimed. I don't know about you, but I think there is a better solution to this problem. I'm just wondering what you guys think about this.

I saw this on CNN's site yesterday. Very sad. I hope there is a rescue in that area that can help these cats so they are not killed.
