We got a phone call early this morning from the wife of our dear friend who passed away last night from a heart attack.
Both my s/o & I are pretty upset, b/c Reuben was a dear friend and one of the sweetest people we've ever known.
He was the kind of guy who would take the shirt off his back for anyone, and never asked for anything in return. He was the one who took me up to the hospital to get my s/o, back when he had bleeding ulcers in January. He & his wife were the ones who had us over for Christmas dinner, b/c neither one of us have family in the area.
They alway say the good die young, and Reuben was just short of his 60th birthday -- on the verge of retiring, and being able to travel and enjoy the rest of his life with his beloved wife. He touched many people's lives, and will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
If anyone would like to send special vibes for Reuben's wife & family, it would be appreciated. He was one very special person, and we're all so very sad to see him go.
