We have a cat that spends most of her time outdoors. In the past few months, every single time I visit her, she'll slap me (full claw) in the legs, try to climb up my back or wail when I need to go. At first, gently pushing her down with my hands or blocking her with my knees worked. Now when I do that she'll latch on. And right now she's pregnant so the last thing I want to do is hurt her.

She's healthy, active and a very friendly cat. She hasn't lost any other companion that'd make her needy, she has other cats to keep her company. I don't know how to get her to stop from grabbing on when I need to leave or walk away for a moment. She's actually leaving cuts and punctures all over my legs now. Any advice would be helpful.

Well, I'm thankful you don't wish to harm her, pregnant or not. It sounds as if she loves you sooo much! You may want to consider trimming her nails. Perhaps you could distract her with a toy when you need to walk away.

She will not be offended if you hiss whenever she latches on to you. If you watch cats interacting, you will notice that when one no longer wants company, he/she will hiss at the others if they insist he/she stays on.
