question about chicken

i was wondering if anybody knows anything about Malaysian Serama. we plan on buying a male and 2 females next week. they are $35 each. is that a good price? do they need any special care?
i would be thankful for any info i could get.

I have chickens, but don't know much about specific breeds.

They don't need special care... it looks like for show quality ones they can run $200 a pair, the cheapest pair I've seen is $50 a pair... so $35 per bird is probably accurate.

the lady we getting them had her male shipped in. he was $200 and won best in show. the female is a show bird too. but im just getting them because i think they are a nice looking breed. thank you for your info.

Well if they're from show stock then $35 does seem resonable to me

They are really neat looking birds.

Having read "The Egg and I", I have no desire to have anything to do with chickens other than on a plate.
