This morning I woke up to find Rags with 5 kittens! While I was sitting with her she had 1 more! There are 2 calicos, 2 gray and white tabbies, and 2 orange and white tabbies. Pretty symmetrical litter so far! I'll post pics in a few minutes. I've just got to get them on Photobucket.

When I go back in there I'll try to see if she might have more coming. Here are some pics of her with the first 5. She looks tired!

Thank you! Rags is very tired. She did the first five without me even knowing about it, but when I went in to check again, she hadn't chewed through the cord on the sixth one. I brought him around to her face and she took care of it, but it took awhile before I could get her to groom him. I think she is exhausted! I hope there aren't anymore, but I don't know for sure. She's still squirming a bit, like she might still be in labor and her belly still feels a bit tight (but that could be milk). I was able to get the dirty towels out of there and replace them with clean ones. That makes me feel better and probably her too!

My mom is probably going to take one. I called her about them and described them to her. She's not sure if whe wants a calico or one of the gray and white ones!

Nice and colorful for Easter kittens

With Rags being a brown patched tabby/white herself, you have a red tabby and white boy and am willing to bet the one is a blue tabby/white (dark blue).

The calicos are pretty too
With that litter its easy to tell the boys from the girls - just compare them to the female calicos. Guessing the red tabby is a boy - the blue can be either.

I probably will keep one, and I'll bet it will be one of the calicos. I love them all, but I am a bit partial to calicos! My first cat was a beautiful long haired calico. I'm beginning to think Rags is done. Since I changed the bedding she has calmed down and is resting and purring and snuggling with her babies. She is such a good mom! She seems to really enjoy having them snuggle her face.
Well, out of six, I know of homes for two of them. Me and my mom! I'll bet the others will not be hard to place.
More good news is that while I was sitting with Rags I got a call about that job I interviewed for. I got the job so now I don't have to worry so much about whether I can afford all the shots and surgeries!

BTW, now that it's dry, the sixth one I thought was a gray and white actually looks darker, like black and white or maybe tortie and white. He's smaller and hasn't latched on to a nipple yet. Do they usually attach to a nipple right away?

UPDATE- I spoke too soon. He's latched on now. I was just being a worrywort!!

They are too cute. The little calicos remind me of my little calico baby. Good luck with raising them and finding them good homes!
