Molly's been walking funny for a few days, but she's flighty enough I can't catch her to look at her. I chased her down tonight.

She's missing a claw.... *I think*. All I can see is dried crustiness where the claw should be & she bites me when I touch her foot.

Her foot reeks like infection.

Vet call ASAP tomorrow AM. I plan to try to rinse the paw with some warm water tonight, but not sure what else is safe to do. I've always got anti-biotics on hand so I plan to start her on those tonight.

Poor girl.
She's probably been like that for a few days & I haven't noticed because she doesn't much get near me.

Warm water and epsom salt soak... but it sounds like she'd really fight you.

If you can wrap her in a towel and sick her paw in a bowl of it - like a large margarine bowl. Pouring a little peroxide over the toe before soaking may help loosen up the end a bit. Maybe some antibiotic ointment on the toe for the night, she'll lick it off but maybe she won't get it all. Consider crating/caging or confining her to one room if she's going to hide from you.

Hopefully some antibiotics and wound care will see her foot healed up soon.

I got her within 5' of the tub of epsom salt & water before she flipped. For now a dip in some warm water will have to do.....

She's being declawed on that claw this AM.
There's only a tiny bit of claw left & the vet was pretty sure it wouldn't grown in right.

Poor Molly. Sending lots of vibes that the declawed toe heals nicely.
Sending vibes for you Nat cause you seem to have a lot going on at once.
