That is really rotten about the generator. A few months ago an animal shelter in Danzig, Poland was actually torched. They managed to save the animals, but the shelter was completely destroyed. There are monsters out there!

Hissy, that's wonderful to hear about Whisp, it's a definite happy ending.

Does the CWSI have a web site? You could alert them that *some people* might want to make donations, and of course, we always love to visit websites of shelters, so you could put up a link. Just a thought...

Sunday, and I'm kind of watching the NASCAR race out of the corner of my eye so I can get my computer time in this morning. Earl has some work to do on my co-workers computer and my station becomes his work station when he needs it. I also need to do laundry, the dishes, clip coupons, and the other Sunday things.

Lola and anyone else interested: CWSI's website is www.cats.org.il Sherral, I think your suggestion is a good one, and while the rules discourage hounding about donations, we can certainly say it here, from the members and not the rescue. Even I can come up with $1-5 to help them out. We could sure make a dent in defraying the cost, as Laurie says, little by little.

Oh, and here is the rule about solicitations:

Solicitations - the needs of rescue workers are great and we recognize this fact. The care of multiple cats, which includes finding suitable homes, good vet care, food, etc is costly. If you wish to bring our attention to the needs of a specific organization you may do so only once, and in the SOS forum only. Other than that, you may use your signature to add a link and a short message regarding the cause you are promoting. From time to time you will see some posts that request donations for a specific cause. It is YOUR responsibility to check these solicitors to the best of your ability. Ask for references and phone numbers, and call around the area to find out if this is a legitimate cause or a scam. The Catsite.com does not stand behind any solicitation of funds that appears in the forums. Be very careful before you send any money; no matter how effective the plea is, check it out before opening your wallet.

Thanks everyone! Here is a user friendly site if you feel the need to become involved: It just really boggles my mind how many evil people there are in the world and how many times animals pay the cost for that evil to exist!

our microwave died last night. that thing should have had sentimental value, i guess. it was the first microwave my parents ever bought. it has to be about 20 years old. so we went microwave shopping today.

not much else exciting here. probably a good night to curl up with a good book.
