Did anyone see this 2 hour show? It was amazing! Basically it showed how Earth would change if every person on the planet vanished. They showed a time period of hours-to many, many years after we vanish.

I think it's on at 9pm tonight on National Geographic.

I saw it and it was very interesting how fast the earth reclaims all that was man made. I also recommend the show. We don't have National Geographic so I must have caught it on Discovery Channel or perhaps the History Network.

I just started a book called "The World Without Us" (Alan Weisman, author) that deals with the same subject matter. So far it is very interesting. I'll have to record that show.

PS - I looked it up - it is replaying Wednesday 9 pm eastern.

I saw the show, it was interesting, but I thought that it was rather overdone. I don't think that things are going to disappear as quickly or as entirely as what they were saying, but there really is no way to prove either way what will happen.

^ Given that we've found ruins and artifacts from 7,000+ years ago, I'd say you're right.

There are two different shows on like this right now. I'm not sure which one it was I've watch, but I always find pictures and video from Chernobyl to be rather haunting. Everyday life suddenly stopped and everything left where it was.

I saw "Life After People" on the History Channel, and that was neat. I'd like to see the National Geographic show too- it sounds similar. I've been reading "The Stand" and it has made me wonder what the world would be like if a disease wiped out everyone. I can't imagine people would just vaporize- it would be interesting to see the impact of people decomposing (even if that sounds gross, I figure it's a more likely scenerio).

I thought about buying that book.

Is this the same show that was on the History Channel a month or two ago (or was it Discovery)?

I was just amazed how much we have affected the Earth, in a negative way. If they are correct and climate would change that much after were gone and restore it's original balance, I can only imagine how the future will be.

I enjoyed the show a lot. There were implications of things I hadn't even thought of, like when the electricity goes out and the power plants can't cool themselves. I also liked the info on what the animals would do (cross breeding, what cats would eat, etc.) But the best part was the computer generated Eiffel Tower falling down. That was pretty cool.
