well..what an exiting weekend..really...Friday night we went to photo central to see the opening of the "gallery" ...it was fun. Although they initially couldn't find my photo..but it was found and hung up while I was there..and I got stuck getting my photo taken with it...I wanted to hide behind my jacket..
but I did a goofy smile...
the gallery is up until March 28th..and on the 29th I go to get it...ok..so that went well..went both ways by bus and then didn't do much friday night. However, Saturday morning was truly eventful. I got up....fed the cats ..and sat on the couch for a while to wake up..but when I cleaned out the cat box and tossed the garbage bag outside..I saw a van parked right behind my car... and it was covered in snow..around the same time Jim looked outside while upstairs and saw the van. I waited a few minutes to see if one of the neighbors had parked it there..but then got dressed and went outside..
well..the van was open and the windows on the drivers side were all smashed in...
so I called dr hook...and they wouldn't come unless I called the cops because its not on public property and its on private property. I could've just paid 50 bucks to tow it..but I didn't want to spend the money..so..I called the number that dr hook gave me...that was the wrong number...that was the ticket line...
then they gave me a number to call - parking authority..that wasn't the right number either..they said oh..well you have to just call the police...
and I goofed. I dialed 911..but hung up right away I didn't even think it rang....and then dialed the non emergency line....
and talked to a cop there..told him the situation ..he asked about the steering column but I wouldn't know if it was broken..so they were going to send dr hook out...
well..as soon as I hung up...the cops came... guess they tried phoning back when I hung up...but because it said private number I didn't answer and I was already on the phone with the police. I explained it to them. took them outside to show them the van...and then they called dr hook to get the van..they even pulled around back and they waited for dr hook. I guess they wanted to make sure no one showed up for the van....
well..dr hook showed up less then 30 minutes later and took the van. So that was cleared up pretty fast. So then we went and picked up his son....
later on that day.. 2 people rang the doorbell..a guy and a girl. The guy did all of the talking and asked which tow truck took the van..and that they weren't mad at me..uh huh..apparently the van belonged to the female...and her windows got smashed in so she was trying to hide the van...uh huh....well..don't do that in my back yard....I said..well I didn't know who's it was and I had to go out.... not sure how they drove it there..with the drivers seat covered in glass?
