ok, those of you in the Uk will be very aware of the extreme weather we are having today. gusts up to 80 miles an hour and heavy, squally rain.

here in west sussex the storm hit about 12.30am. when my husband got up at 4.30am he discovered the kittens had been running riot! all their toys were spread over the lounge carpet and they (i think milo
) had knocked a vase over, spilling water on the carpet.

he cleared this up and told me about it, but when i got up at 7am they (milo) had knocked the vase over again! obviously refilled by hubby, so more wet carpets!

they were very active this morning before i left for work until shinobi got spooked (by thunder) and hid under my sons bed.

goodness only knows what i'll come home to later!

anyone else have mad kitties when the weather is bad?

When I was a teacher, I always knew when a weather change was coming, because the kids get restless. I have every reason to believe animals would be the same way. In the case of cats, in the wild they probably do some extra hunting before a storm.

oh that would explain the toys spread across the room then. i remember when i was a kid my mum used to say that the cat had 'the wind in his tail' when he would race around.

guess the kittens were just acting on instinct then. tabitha, on the other hand, was tucked up in bed all night.
