I wouldn't say Pearl's eyes are chartreuse -- a little more toward the blue side of green than the yellow. But both our girls are beautiful!

AUGH! Don't get me started -- if I go to eBay, it should be to SELL, not to buy!
I'm guessing I have something on the order of 800 insulators, almost all glass, with just a few specimen porcelains and polymers. In the immortal words of Roberto Duran, "No mas! No mas!"

Very cool! Your little glass one is what my insulator collector buddies call a "radio strain" -- I believe they were used to interrupt the guywires that tether a pole on which electrical lines were strung, so current couldn't follow that path.

The brown one may be what's called a "house insulator" -- I think it was screwed into the side of a house to carry the cables at a safe offset. And the white ones look like they might be mine insulators, used to carry lines for light and power underground... but I'm not sure. (Generally, porcelain is newer than glass, and I know much less about it.)

Anyway, I love radio strains -- I have a couple of tiny green ones maybe two inches long, and several clear ones that are 10 to 14 inches long! Isn't it fun collecting such bizarre things?

Yes it is fun!!
And thanks for the info, especially on the glass one! I've tried to research it and ask around, but no one had any idea what it was!!
I found it in a pasture field!

Oops -- Taterbug, I didn't mean to say that your electric fence insulator was actually a mine insulator -- including it with the other white one was an accident. I shouldn't try to post when my mom is talking to me!
