Green lightening

Has anyone ever seen green lightening? Mom saw it during the storm last night and swore a tornado was nearby. I of course rolled back to sleep.

Nope, never seen that. Must be Irish lightning.

Oh yes! And pink, too. Especially the night we flew back from our trip to Ireland and Scotland in 2001 -- we changed planes in Chicago, and on the final flight southward to Dallas, we had huge banks of thunderstorms on both sides of our route. As we flew down that little corridor between storms, I saw lightning of every possible color and kind -- it was dazzling.

As long as nobody gets hurt, I just love storms!

Oh she also said it was cloud to cloud lightening. Not from cloud to ground.

Heard about it but never saw it. there is pink too.

Many years ago when I was about 17 I was riding my not so powerfull motorbike back home from work in a bit of a storm. I was going up a long straight road out in the back of beyond. There were fields either side of the road, all of a sudden about 100 feet in front of me and from both sides of the hedge, bolts of lightning actually shot out of the ground towards the sky, they also were a green colour. I have never ever seen anything like it since.

That's interesting.. I've never seen it that I can recall.

I've seen green sky/clouds and has always been told that's a sign of tornados...but never really heard of green lightning.
