Anyone else have this problem?

Sometimes when my babies are sleeping really still and comfortably, I annoy them just a little bit (like petting the inside of their ear or in between their toes) so they'll shift in their sleep and I'll know they're alive.

LOL, it sounds like the cats are the one with the problem, you! Heheh, yes, I can't resist to sometimes tickle little toes How could anyone resist that

Oh, thank heavens.

I was starting to think I might be nuts (er, I guess

I don't do that, but my husband used to, with Oberon. He'd give him a gentle poke now and then, saying that Oberon wakes him up during the night so it's only fair.

Yes I do that as well.. I also mess up the fur on Sassy's stomach occasionally just to see that
"Who do you think you are" glare he gives me...

He hates having even one hair out of place..

I don't do that but I can't resist giving Beauty a stroke when she's asleep every now and again.

I think you should check this out.

Well, considering they sleep for at least 20 hours of the day and bother us - more specifically me - during my limited and frequently interrupted 6, then I think it's only fair that I should get to poke their bellies or tickle their toes!! Having cats and a sleeping problem doesn't tend to go too well together....

tell me about it!

I swear I only get about two hours at a time of uninterrupted sleep ever

Have you ever picked up their head when they're doing the "dreaming" thing? They are totally limp! You would swear they are dead. Our first cat, Snoopy, did that one time when we were moving to PA, and it scared my wife to death.

That is pretty cute! But I only do it because I'm paranoid, not to annoy them.

Hence my obsessive disturbing them, just a little.

My boys sleep paws up most of the time, so I'll walk by, give a little tickle, see a very annoyed look, and then walk away.

They usually get me back at around 6am.
