Ultra low budget films have a very special place in my heart. I can remember tracking down a copy of Clerks when I was in high school because people kept commenting on it via ListServ. (Back in the good old days of the Internet) Primer is a great example of how a good writer, good director, and good actor can max out his credit cards and make a good movie. Made for seven grand this film does what hundred million dollar SciFi movies can't do; keep my interest for over an hour.

The basic crux of Primer is time travel. Two men discover that they are able to create doubles of themselves and go back in time. The rest of the film is up to you to watch and enjoy. Being that it's less than 90 minutes long, and available on On Demand Netflicks it's well worth your time.

Oh, darn! I love your reccs, but time travel freaks me out.

Though, I do have one major exception (it's my exception to the black and white rule too) - La Jete. Have you seen it?

I think you'll enjoy it. I'd love to chat with you about it if you do manage to track it down and see it.
