Well, only long enough to snatch the treat and run..but still..

I started taking a lil bag of treats out with me and rattling them when I put food or treats out. Tonight I did that and sat on the steps watching the kitties eat and one of my 2 "new" friends kept inching closer. So I shook the bag and poured some in my hand and held my hand down on the steps while I was talking to the kitties. He finally got all the way up to me (took forever my arm was falling asleep), snatched a treat and ran over to the vehicles. Hey thats progress right?

Yes it is!! It can be soooo frustrating sometimes. The first batch of kittens that turned up around here were born in an old groundhog burrow up in the woods. We set a coupld of milk crates up there so we could just sit there for hours getting them used to our presence. Patience is probably one of the most useful words when working with these amazing animals when they're wild.

It's great you're getting them used to the "sound" of food. We love watching the cats come running when we shake the bag.

you are doing really really good!! it took me such a long time with these kittens. I was so happy the first time snow white took a treat from me.
